On November 13, 2020, I was appointed general judge by the German Kennel Club (VDH), with the right and distinction to judge all breeds recognized by the FCI.

To have been appointed all-round judge makes me very proud. It was a long and rocky road. At the age of 24, I began training as a special breed judge for my own breed - the Siberian Husky - in the German Club for Nordic Dogs (DCNH). Further special breeding judge trainings within the FCI group 5 followed, which led to the successful comprehensive training as a group judge for the entire group 5. Over time, the VDH gave me the opportunity to learn more about breeds from other FCI groups.

After 19 years, I successfully completed my training as a general judge in 2020. Judging purebred dogs is a passion. It is important to understand breeds in all their diversity in relation to their original purpose and to assess the varied characteristics of anatomy, dynamics and breed-specific details in order to ensure their preservation and further development. Now it is important to put the knowledge about the newly learned breeds into practice. I'm already looking forward to it and I'm excited about this challenge.

A heartfelt and sincere thank you is very important to me. I would like to thank all 10 coordinators of the FCI groups, the members of the VDH committee for judges and standards matters and the members of the VDH board, who have placed their trust in me for this extensive training over many years. I would also like to thank all my international fellow judges and breed specialists who have enabled me to learn from them over the past few years. Last but not least, I would like to thank a few companions from the bottom of my heart who have supported me on this journey from the first to the last minute.
